  • Fixed graph-drawing issues.
  • Should be able to get the weather forecast again.
  • Intervals should now beep when switching.
  • Fixed a bug that would cause the voice installation dialog to keep nagging even if you check the “don’t remind me again” box.
  • Should now be able to start indoor workouts with goals.
  • Removed social button on starting screen (has been broken for a long time).
  • Fixed a bug that caused redundant workout downloads when syncing.

A new update to SportyPal for Android has been released on the Play Store. Here’s what’s been changed in the new version:

  • A Notifications section has been added that allows you to view your Community Feed from your device, as well as your notifications. You can also send messages to your SportyPal friends. This feature is only available on devices running Android 2.2 or newer. (Most ICS issues with this section have been resolved in the 2.2.5 update.)
  • If you’re being prompted to upload your workouts after recording each one, you will now have the option of specifying a tag before uploading. You can also specify a tag in the details screen by selecting the Label option from the menu. If your workout has been uploaded, the tag should be updated when you click the OK button.
  • The Twitter share dialog now has a character count. The dialogs that appear before and after are hopefully a bit less confusing now. The text in the dialog boxes for Twitter and Facebook messages should be top-aligned now.
  • Made some performance improvements for post-ICS devices.
  • The Weather section has been moved to the pop-up menu and has been fixed. If you still can’t get the weather for your location, let us know (we will probably be able to fix your specific issue in an update).
  • Attempted to fix layout issues in the workout screen on certain devices. The workout screen should now always stay in the orientation in was started in.
  • Crash fixes.
  • Fixed an ANR that could occur if it took too long to get the data for the quarter view.

You can find SportyPal by searching for it on Google Play, or by scanning the QR code displayed here.

Note that if you are upgrading from a beta version of SportyPal Pro, you must first uninstall the previous version before installing this one.

We just released a new update to SportyPal for Android that fixes several issues present in the previous versions. Here’s a list:

  • Fixed a bug that would prevent heart rate monitoring the second time an indoor workout was started. This is also the same issue that caused the SportyPal notification to get stuck in the status bar, so that’s been fixed, too.
  • Fixed an issue that would prevent tracks being downloaded to your device if their waypoints don’t have altitude data.
  • If anyone is having issues with their voice notifications not being played, the voice settings screen now has additional logging that should help us find what’s causing this.
  • LiveView/SmartWatch should now work in Indoor mode.
  • Crash fixes.
  • ANR fixes.

You can find SportyPal by searching for it on Google Play, or by scanning the QR code displayed here.

Note that if you are upgrading from a beta version of SportyPal Pro, you must first uninstall the previous version before installing this one.

A new update to SportyPal for Android has been released on the Play Store. It’s mostly a bugfix release. Here are some of the things we’ve fixed:

  • Fixed the Pocket Change loading dialog.
  • Added an option allowing you to disable Pocket Change notifications in the Settings screen.
  • Added a voice notification “middle ground” option. The Simple voice setting option has been removed – you can select one of three options if you’re having trouble:
    • Separate streams and volume – this is the default option where voice notifications are played on the notification stream and the music stream volume is automatically lowered while notifications are playing.
    • Separate streams only – this is new. Voice notifications are played on the notification stream but the music volume remains unchanged.
    • Simple: equivalent to Simple voice setting in previous versions. Plays notifications on the music stream.
  • Made some performance improvements for post-ICS devices.
  • Fixed bug where changing the screen orientation changes the language.
  • Crash fixes.

You can find SportyPal by searching for it on Google Play, or by scanning the QR code displayed here.

Note that if you are upgrading from a beta version of SportyPal Pro, you must first uninstall the previous version before installing this one.

This past month we’ve been busy working on our new web feature called SportyPal Events. So, what’s the idea behind it?

Well, you know how often you like to gather with your sport buddies and do a tour by bike, a hike on the nearby mountain or just a walk in the park. And, you have to tell them the time, the place, where you’ll be going, how long will it take and that can be very exhausting if told to 5 or more people. SportyPal Events will solve that.

You’ll be able to set a starting time, date, place and a map, invite your friends directly or by email. Even more, you can choose from existing tracks or workouts and set that as an event track.

SportyPal Events will be available on Monday, October 1st on SportyPal.com. Be sure to check it out.
