Windows Mobile SportyPal 1.0.1

A new update is now online for Windows Mobile users. Here are the changes in this version:

  • Added a check that would prevent the application from rotating the screen on startup on devices with a landscape screen. This may help users with landscape screens. Then again, it may not (we don’t have a device to test it on), so try it and let us know.
  • Attempted to eliminate empty parts showing up in uploaded workouts.
  • Attempted to fix a bug where a workout would end on the center of the map if you lost the GPS signal when the workout ended.
  • The same filter that takes care of the two points above may solve the bug where only two coordinates of a workout would be saved, even though the stats are 100% correct. Then again, it may not (we’ve never been able to reproduce this), so try it and let us know.
  • Changed the distance display to always show miles if you’re using imperial units, also updated the main workout display to autoswitch to kilometers after 1000 m.
  • Made sure that the date is displayed correctly at the records page when using imperial units.
  • Made the option to use imperial or metric units clearer.
  • The CAB file is smaller now.

This is an old version and is no longer available for download.

Great software, although a little buggy right now. I downloaded the “new” CAB, but it looks to be the same size & I don’t see any changes in the features. It continues to crash on my Touch HD periodically. Very frustrating.

    • SportyPal Says:

There seems to be a problem with the new CAB download right now. We’ll post an update when you can download it.

any chance the stop button can be made bigger or assign a button as I keep missing it when finished a run

    • SportyPal Says:

The left hardware button on your phone should have the same function as the stop button.

        hi
unfotunate htc diamond doesn’t have one. it starts on the centre button but doesn’t stop it
other wise a great piece of software

      • SportyPal Says:

Perhaps we could bind the central button to that function as well. It makes sense, being the most-used function during workouts, and it’s still difficult to end your workout by accident since you have to choose the other option in the dialog.

      • john gosling Says:

I think even if the centre button was used to pause the program when you stop, it would help then when you’ve got your breath back and settled you can end it as normal
        just an idea

      • SportyPal Says:

We’re a bit worried that that would have users pausing their workouts by accident, which is worse than having the end dialog pop up, since coordinates aren’t recorded in pause mode. Finding out that you’ve been running while paused for half an hour is not fun.

    Hello!

Do you have plans to add support for 240*240 resolution devices in the next windows mobile update?

  4. BD Says:

Has the bugs in the upgrade been fixed….would like to download it. I would like to use the display in miles rather in yards.
